This is an authentic duplicate of the original sign that hung over the platform on the IRT CITY HALL STATION from 1904. The station was closed on December 31, 1945 and this sign was removed some time in the 1970’s. Any questions please ask.
The sign measures 58 inches wide by 11 inches high by 5 inches deep. It is illuminated with FIVE 15 WATT incandescent bulbs just as in the original sign. The sign was powered by wiring five light bulbs in series and connecting it to the third rail power supply 600 Volts Direct Current.
The sign is composed of wood and plastic.
