ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In 1952 the Wurlitzer 5204 wallbox was designed for the Wurlitzer 1500 and 1550 jukeboxes and used the Wurlitzer 252 Stepper. It was the first 104 selection jukebox and wallbox. The 5204 is a very unique wallbox and can be used with any 104 selection wallbox including the 1954 newly designed "carousels". The Wurlitzer 252 Steppers however have a different "timing" circuit although the pulse trains are identical. Patterned after the 3020 wallbox which had 24 selections and operated with 110VAC, the 5204 used three wires and low voltage, 24 VAC. It incorporates the old style "coin grinder" type of accumulating credits. When a coin is deposited it is held in place to calculate the proper number of credits to be established requiring a complete cycle with no signal output and then releases the coin into the coin box. Once credits are established (up to 20) the wallbox will send out a signal when any of the 26 buttons is pressed and continue to hold credits until exhausted.
The 1500 and 1500A (A denotes second year of production) had the same cabinet (polished walnut wood finish) except that the 1500A's switched from the three point caster system to the four point caster system. The 1550 and 1550A incorporated a "TEXILEATHER" vinyl finish available in blue, blonde or mahogany.
In 1953 the Wurlitzer 5205 wallbox was designed for the Wurlitzer 1500A and 1550A jukeboxes and used the Wurlitzer 253 Stepper with square plugs. These had green single titlestrips.
In 1954 the stepper was changed to round plugs and the Wurlitzer 5205 wallbox (green buttons) was used with the Wurlitzer 1700 jukebox (red buttons). The original titlestrip holders for the Wurlitzer 1700 jukebox used red single titlestrip holders. The Wurlitzer 5205 wallbox had green single titlestrip holders.
In 1955 the Wurlitzer 5207 wallbox was designed for the Wurlitzer 1800 jukebox and used the Wurlitzer 255 and 257 steppers. The Wurlitzer 5207 wallbox had red double titlestrip holders with red buttons. The Wurlitzer 5207 wallbox was produced until 1960.
The Wurlitzer 5205 and 5207 wallboxes are electrically similar can be used with any of the 104 play Wurlitzer machines. With the advent of the new 45rpm records and double title strips, many operators chose to upgrade the 5205's by changing the titlestrip holders from green single titlestrip holders to red double titlestrip holders. Some also opted to change the buttons on the 5205's from green to red as well to give the wallbox a "new" look.
In 1956 Wurlitzer celebrated their centennial and designed the 5210 (200 Selections) wallbox for use with the Wurlitzer 2000 jukebox. The buttons on the 5210 were white with black letters/numbers for a very short time and then they were produced with green (turquoise) buttons with white letters/numbers. The 5210 was produced through 1957.
In 1958 Wurlitzer designed the 5250 (200 selections) and the 5252 wallboxes (200 selections, dual pricing on any series of letters) for use beginning with the Wurlitzer 2200 jukebox. These were produced through 1964.
In 1960 Wurlitzer designed the 5200 (100 selections) and the 5202 (100 selections, dual pricing on any series of letters) for use with the Wurlitzer 2410 through 2810 100 selection jukeboxes. These were produced through 1964.

WURLITZER 5220/5225 WALLBOXES
From 1965 to 1974 the Wurlitzer produced its final series of wallboxes. There were several variations. All 5220/5225 series wallboxes were capable of dual pricing which allowed the operator to select any series of ten sides of a record within selections A1 thru D0 to charge a higher price.
This was known as "LITTLE LP". Seeburg wallboxes referred to this as "EP" selections.
5220 models were 200 selections and 5225 were 100 selections.
They had built in dual (stereo) speakers on top. They also had another feature known as the "GOLDEN BAR". This feature required the patron to deposit a half dollar and a press of the "GOLDEN BAR" button selected the top seven songs on the jukebox. These were indicated by placing a clear yellow plastic shield on top of the titlestrips for those seven selections.
An option without the top speakers and without the "GOLDEN BAR" were "A" models. (5220A and 5225A). Sometimes these were referred to as "B" models as well. (5220B and 5225B). Beginning in 1972 and ending in 1974 Wurlitzer produced the "L" models which were preset at the factory to take only quarters and half dollars. The standard factory setting for the "L" models was 2 for a quarter and 5 for a half dollar. However all "L" models were equipped to take nickels, dimes, quarters and half dollars.
