BRT BROADWAY SUBWAY SIGN

This is a porcelain reproduction of one of the rarest signs from the New York City Subway System. There are only two known to exist. They were only used on the Manhattan token boths of the BRT Broadway subway. They were installed in 1913. In 1923 the "R" in the middle was painted over with an "M". They only lasted a short time thereafter and were removed and scrapped. This sign is made to the exact dimensions, lettering and colors. This is an authentic porcelain on steel sign. Because of the high cost of reproducing porcelain, only a handful were made and most are already in the personal collections of serious collectors. This is high quality sign made in America. Each color is fired seperately. Measures 12 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches high and has eight holes with original style grommets for easy mounting.
